OSL tickets are valid on the Hailuoto line
You can travel on Hailuoto line 59 with OSL tickets. You can worry-free pay the public transport ticket on the bus with a card, contactless payment or use OSL's application, which you can download to your phone.
On the OSL zone map, Hailuoto is located in zone D. For example, for a trip from the center of Oulu to Hailuoto, you need a City A-D ticket.
Hailuoto's public transport is organized by the Northern Ostrobothnia ELY center and will be operated by Oulaisten Liikenne in 2024.

The trip takes 1.5 hours
During the trip, you can put your mind to rest and enjoy the journey to a carefree island.
In 1.5 hours, you will see the most beautiful scenery while driving to the ferry beach, and from the ferry you will have the opportunity to see far out to sea, explore and observe ship traffic, a solid ice cover or, for example, the movement of migratory birds in the spring weather. During Summer you can see seagulls flocking behind the ferry searching for fish that the ferry propellers lift to the surface.
You can get off the bus during the ferry ride to the deck to experience how the sea air bites and refreshes you. Feel the sea breeze take your worries away.
Choose a suitable end stop on the island
When arriving in Hailuoto, you can get off the bus at any bus stop that is closest to your destination. If, for example, you are staying at Arctic Lighthouse Hotel, you can comfortably sit in the bus until the end of the journey. The bus turns to the final stop in Marjaniemi, from where Arctic Lighthouse Hotel's reception is just a stone-throw away, or for example to Ranta-Sumppu cottages.
You can also make a stop at the town center, where you can find our organic brewery Hailuodon Panimo, souvenir shop Luovon Puoji, grocery stores, coffee shop Kahvila Loma, and for a night out karaoke and dance bar Iltalento.
