Hailuoto events of 2025

During winter vacation weeks you can get to know the island with a variety of ways. Book guided activities, rent equipment or book an accommodation and enjoy the island at your own pace.

May events in Hailuoto are bigger than before. Get ready for May Day Old Vehicles Tour through the island. We will also have our traditional "capping of Hailuodon Muru". More information will be published later.

Midsummer in Hailuoto is traditionally time for families to gather together, but it is possible to also enjoy your time at Midsummer dance. On Midsummer Eve we will have a birch put up next to the lighthouse, so that people can put up beautiful scarves to wave in the wind, as is an old tradition in Hailuoto.

Hailuoto's unique aviation event, which annually gathers aviation enthusiasts from all over Finland. This year, the Fly-in will take place on Saturday, August 16th. Welcome to join us to watch the arrival of aircraft and a parachute jumping show, among other attractions (weather permitting).

Traditional event will be arranged in a new way, but on the original time. Welcome to experience it on the second weekend of October, from 11th to 12th!

In December Hailuoto will have Christmas-themed events every day, as the islanders combine their forces to create beautiful events. Calendar will be published in November of 2025.

During Easter time we have a lot going on! Events for Easter will be published later, but book your accommodation well in advance.

Summer Opening Festival is arranged 11th time this year. It gathers people from the island and further to celebrate the opening of Hailuoto's cultural summer events. The festival will be held in June 7th.

July in Hailuoto is filled with cultural events. Bättre Folk, Hailuoto Theater Festival and Hailuoto Music Festival have been an integral part of Hailuoto's Summer for years.

The start of duck hunting season is one of the biggest events in Hailuoto's yearly cycle. It draws hunters from all over Finland to the island. On the evening before the hunt begins, a Hunting Dance is held at the Hailuoto Youth Association Hall on August 19th.

Hailuoto Christmas Market will be held in the three beautiful, traditional buildings. You're warmly welcome! The time for the event will be published later in 2025.
